  1. I love putting random-width strips together and slicing them up to form a sort of railroad block. Put a little sashing in and some binding to tie it all together, and you have a scrappy quilt!

  2. Mug rugs are always a fun scrappy project. I just sew leftover pieces together and use the envelope method to finish so there's no binding to deal with…quick and easy!!

  32. I love love love scrappy. I have made simple patchwork quilts, I use my tiny pieces on scrappy 4.5 inch (unfinished) log cabin(ish) blocks - so far I have 72 blocks. I just keep those tiny pieces separate and when the bin starts to fill up - I stitch up a dozen or so and add them to the pile.

Because I have been finishing up a couple of WIPs, I haven't made a scrappy one yet but I have 2.5 inch squares to start and that is my goal for the summer! Your giveaways would be a nice welcome!

  115. I just finished a quilt top made from charm squares cut from my scraps. I kept the stack by my sewing machine and pieced them as "leaders and enders". Before I knew it, a quilt was pieced, ready to be quilted and given to the Ronald McDonald House.

  133. I like doing colour-coordinated foundation-pieced string blocks with my scraps. As the scraps get smaller you start to piece the little bits together to create the strings and it makes a really cool effect (aand also maybe a few funky seams...)

I'm about to make Elizabeth Hartman's quilt pattern Tokyo Subway quilt - it's a great scrap project, you need 1600 squares in total - mostly white but the feature is the multi-coloured scraps in rainbow colours that make up the subway 'lines'. Each square is 2.5 inches so is a great use of scraps. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  183. Most of my quilts are scrappy. However, I do use leaders and enders and recently have started making slabs of scraps this way. Is a way of using scraps while not having to overthink when I am doing the leader and ender thing.

  186. I love scraps quilts and log cabin blocks is my best favorite block or anyone with stars.I `m working on several proyects and the scrapest one is my hexies blocks.
